Learning is fun and this year’s children’s programs at the Sandhill Crane Festival are no exception.

Children will enjoy origami, a variety of crafts, creative painting projects and much more.

Origami is the ancient Japanese art of paper folding. The goal of this art is to create a given result using geometric folds and crease patterns preferably without the use of gluing or cutting the paper.

Origami refers to all types of paper folding, even those with non-Asian origins.

Origami uses only a small number of different folds, but they can be combined in a variety of ways to make intricate designs. In general, these designs begin with a square sheet of paper whose sides may be different colors.

Mask making is also available in room 531. Making masks with kids allows them to use their imaginations and art skills. What could be more fun for your child than dressing up? Engage your child's artistic abilities by preparing a masquerade mask for him/her to decorate and wear.

These events are all free to children, with adult paid admission, attending the festival.

Let your kids join us and create some remarkable art offered by the Othello Sandhill Crane Festival.

We can provide your young Rebrandt with hours of fun and creativity. We invite you to visit us or just browse our site to discover all about the Sandhill Crane.

Children love origami.
Changing a boring...
flat piece of paper into a
recognizable 3-dimensional
shape is like magic!
