2008 ART CONTEST

A free admission to the Sandhill Crane Festival will be issued to all art contest participants.

Prizes:

All entrees will receive a certificate. First place prizes in each category will receive a ribbon and a Sandhill Crane special gift. Second and third place will receive a ribbon.

Eligibility:

Only original work designed and executed within the last two years will be considered. Work must be created entirely by the artist. Work from commercial kits or copies are ineligible.

Conditions:

The Sandhill Crane Festival makes the following conditions applicable to all artists entering art for exhibitions: 1) The Festival reserves the right to photograph exhibited art for publicity purposes. 2) All art must remain on exhibition throughout the designated show schedule. 3) Prior to installation, the juror and the Festival reserve the right to reject pieces that are too fragile, oversized or in poor repair. 4) The Festival cannot assume responsibility for loss or damage during the exhibition. 5) The Festival retains the right to cancel the show. 6) Must feature and are limited to Sandhill Cranes, nature scenes, other birds, plants and animals native to the Columbia Basin area.

Media:

Entries may include any traditional media: watercolors, oils, acrylics, mixed media, drawings, ceramics, fibers, metals, photographs, prints, wood, glass, non-traditional materials (separate or in combination with above). Limited to one entry in any media, per individual with a total of three entries per person.

Delivery & Pick up:

Entries may be hand-delivered to Othello High School Gym, 340 S. 7^th, Othello , Washington . Pieces must be delivered between 4:00-6:30pm on March 28^th. Out-of-town entries will be accepted by mail. Please send your entries to The Old Hotel Art Gallery, 33 E. Larch, Othello , WA 99344 or hand delivered March 20-27. The artist will collect all artwork no later 5pm , March 29th. Unless prior arrangements are made with Gallery staff the Gallery or SHCF will NOT be responsible for any artwork pieces left after the 5pm deadline.
